Plans & pricing

How Lumio plans, product limits, overage, and billing work.

Lumio bills per workspace on flat plans with product limits — not credits. The plan price covers the AI work (scoring, enrichment, voice synthesis) for everything within the limit. Products beyond the limit are billed at a per-product overage rate.

Each workspace has its own subscription. An organization can run multiple workspaces (one per store), each on its own plan.

The Free plan is a hard cap — products beyond 50 aren’t scored or scanned. Professional and Elite include per-product overage so workspaces don’t have to pre-size to peak inventory.

Billing providers

Lumio supports two billing providers:

  • Shopify Billing — Workspaces installed via the Shopify App Store are billed through Shopify’s Billing API. Invoices appear on the Shopify bill.
  • Stripe — Workspaces created directly are billed through Stripe.

Each subscription tracks its provider so plan changes, cancellations, and renewals route correctly.

What happens at the limit

When a workspace nears its product limit, the Manage page shows the current product count and the limit. Behavior on plans with overage:

  • New products beyond the limit are billed at the overage rate at the end of the period.
  • Scoring and enrichment continue to work above the limit.

Behavior on Free (hard-cap):

  • Above 50 products, the catalog stops accepting new ones until the workspace upgrades or trims the catalog.

Plan changes and cancellations

From Manage in the workspace:

  • Upgrade takes effect immediately. Higher limits and unlocked features become available right away.
  • Downgrade takes effect at the end of the current period. The workspace keeps the higher tier’s features until then.
  • Cancel ends the subscription at the end of the current period. The workspace reverts to Free at that point.

Managing the subscription

Manage (workspace settings) shows:

  • Current plan, status, and next billing date
  • Product count vs. plan limit
  • Plan change controls (upgrade, downgrade, cancel)
  • Billing portal link for invoices and payment methods (provider-dependent)
